Role Overview

AiGent is seeking an accomplished leader to spearhead the integration of distributed energy resources into wholesale power markets. In this pivotal role, you’ll combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution—designing scalable systems, creating efficient processes, and leading cross-functional initiatives that transform megawatts into market-ready assets. The ideal candidate thrives on solving complex challenges, is deeply analytical, and excels at translating data into actionable strategies. Your mission: build and lead a team capable of seamlessly onboarding capacity into the grid and continuously optimizing its performance and profitability.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead and scale a high-performing team responsible for integrating distributed energy capacity into wholesale markets and maximizing its commercial performance
  • Design and implement end-to-end operational workflows, connecting data streams, bid strategies, asset registration, dispatch coordination, and settlement activities with market operators
  • Define and execute the technology roadmap, including evaluating build-versus-buy options, to ensure best-in-class operational capabilities
  • Coordinate across departments and stakeholders to streamline data-driven processes and ensure smooth information flow throughout the organization
  • Oversee load forecasting and asset performance modeling to support accurate market participation strategies
  • Manage the collection, analysis, and governance of data critical to operational decision-making and market execution
  • Partner with go-to-market teams to develop tools and insights that enhance the value proposition for customers and prospects
  • Engage in policy discussions and provide input to shape market rules and regulatory frameworks that impact distributed energy resources
  • Collaborate closely with engineering to ensure that platforms, integrations, and operational systems function cohesively and efficiently
  • Drive project timelines and ensure all program deliverables and market participation milestones are completed ahead of seasonal market cycles
  • Establish and oversee key performance indicators (KPIs) and performance metrics to track progress, inform strategic decisions, and continuously improve business outcomes
  • Build a long-term strategic vision for market operations, including the processes, people, and systems needed to support growth from the ground up

Qualifications

  • Deep commitment to AiGent’s mission and core principles
  • Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL for data analysis and system development
  • Proven track record in designing and deploying technology solutions
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations, platform implementation, or similar technical leadership roles
  • Highly analytical and process-driven thinker with a bias toward action and strong execution skills
  • Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work
  • Demonstrated passion for ongoing professional growth and skill development
  • Dynamic and innovative leader with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and presentation communication abilities
  • Required experience navigating and operating within wholesale electricity markets
  • Preferred background launching or managing complex, organization-wide technology platforms
  • Bonus: prior involvement in virtual power plant (VPP) or distributed energy resource (DER) integration
  • Fully remote position — candidates should be energized by remote collaboration and have a workspace conducive to high performance
