VP of Sales

Our client develops software that enables better decisions related to the planet to be made. From historic droughts to record storms, our client provides international water predictions for a wide range of scenarios. The company has experienced tremendous growth in recent years & has a range of industry leading customers & multi-year agreements.

The Role

Our client seeks a Vice President of Sales to help drive the growth & sales of a critical company product. The VP of Sales will work in close collaboration with the sales & business development team & act as a strong mentor & leader for team members. The right candidate will be highly motivated & results-driven.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Determine sales-related goals & track key performance indicators to ensure goals are met
  • Meet or exceed sales targets through deal closures
  • Develop relationships with crucial customers in both new as well as existing markets
  • Close deals that provide substantial commercial growth
  • Closely manage & mentor team members to help improve sales numbers
  • Work closely with the marketing team to help determine strategies that will bolster sales
  • Provide input & strategies to support entering into new markets
  • Interact with clients in new markets
  • Maintain a strong understanding of current industry trends
  • Provide informative feedback to financial & product teams
  • Present remotely as well as sometimes travel to in-person sales meetings & conferences

Ideal Qualifications

  • Degree in applicable field, such as business, engineering, energy, data science or the environment
  • Experience in sales & business development, preferably with SaaS products
  • Proven ability to lead teams to meet company targets
  • Ability to close complicated, large deals
  • Comfortability with a range of technology applications
  • Strong knowledge of the industry
  • Experience & contacts within hydropower, government, clean energy, the utility industry or engineering
