The Role
Our client seeks a Vice President of Sales to help drive the growth & sales of a critical company product. The VP of Sales will work in close collaboration with the sales & business development team & act as a strong mentor & leader for team members. The right candidate will be highly motivated & results-driven.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Determine sales-related goals & track key performance indicators to ensure goals are met
- Meet or exceed sales targets through deal closures
- Develop relationships with crucial customers in both new as well as existing markets
- Close deals that provide substantial commercial growth
- Closely manage & mentor team members to help improve sales numbers
- Work closely with the marketing team to help determine strategies that will bolster sales
- Provide input & strategies to support entering into new markets
- Interact with clients in new markets
- Maintain a strong understanding of current industry trends
- Provide informative feedback to financial & product teams
- Present remotely as well as sometimes travel to in-person sales meetings & conferences
Ideal Qualifications
- Degree in applicable field, such as business, engineering, energy, data science or the environment
- Experience in sales & business development, preferably with SaaS products
- Proven ability to lead teams to meet company targets
- Ability to close complicated, large deals
- Comfortability with a range of technology applications
- Strong knowledge of the industry
- Experience & contacts within hydropower, government, clean energy, the utility industry or engineering
