Role Overview
Our client seeks a Sr. Director of Federal Programs to drive policy & advocacy efforts while establishing & maintaining partnerships to support the expansion of community solar programs. The position involves collaborating with federal agencies & other stakeholders to advance industry goals. The successful candidate will be proactive & thrive in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Advocate for federal legislation & agency actions impacting community solar
- Build & manage national partnerships & federal opportunities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop & promote community solar policies
- Manage consultants & other third parties
- Lead federal policy efforts
- Coordinate participation in federal proceedings
- Support communications & advocacy planning
Qualifications
- Federal policy experience, ideally in energy or environment
- Proactive, politically savvy, & thrives in a fast-paced setting
- Proven success in shaping & advocating for federal legislation or policy
- Expertise in renewable energy advocacy
- Experience working with federal agencies & other government entities
- Skilled at managing internal teams & third parties
- Ability to achieve goals via government engagements
- Comfortable engaging with a wide range of audiences
- Capable of managing stakeholder input
- Ability to develop policy positions with leadership & the policy team
- Experience in representing industry interests
- Strong communication skills
- Deep knowledge of energy issues
- Experience in federal policymaking
- Open to travel about one-quarter of the time
- U.S. work authorization
