Senior Manager, Sustainability

Our client is one of the largest clean energy producers in the country. The focus of our client’s organization is to help lead the current drive to promote and implement clean energy and deep decarbonization around the country as well as help to provide its customers and communities with various options in the management, purchase and use of clean energy.

The Role

Our client seeks a Senior Manager for Sustainability Solutions who will report to the VP of Commercialization and Development and be in charge of the technical sales team as well as help increase the profitability of advisory services. This position is focused on sales of multi-product services and the development of a technical team that can support the advisory pipeline and customers’ sustainability goals. The role requires considerable engagement with various departments in the company and requires a person who is a leader that can develop strong relationships across various teams.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical sales team
  • Help to exceed or, at a minimum meet, annual targets
  • Support the customers to meet their carbon reduction goals
  • Help construct plans and develop solutions for customers
  • Create and support relationships with relevant partners and regulatory entities
  • Help to expand the organization’s strategic partnerships
  • Make presentations, participate in webinars and support customers’ events
  • Write blogs and white papers as needed on relevant topics

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Well-developed network building capabilities both internally and externally
  • Bachelor’s degree with extensive sales experience in the energy field (an MBA or other advanced degree is preferred, but not required)
  • Demonstrated success and expertise in the creation of road maps and strategies in sustainability solutions within an organizational setting
  • Ability to both develop and market solutions involving complex product offerings
  • Achieve and maintain high sales goals
  • Motivated self-starter who is flexible in the responsibilities they undertake
  • Experience developing new client relationships
  • Ability to generate business development opportunities
  • Prior experience with leading cross-functional teams
