Our client has invested hundreds of millions of dollars in both companies & projects, as well as acquired & managed hundreds of new construction & operating projects in the majority of the states in the U.S.

Role Overview

Our client seeks a Director of Procurement & Preconstruction to help with developing best procurement practices, support with new construction assets, & analyze future potential market alterations, among other duties.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Help develop innovative & cost effective procurement tactics
  • Find & work cohesively with vendors & suppliers
  • Negotiate third party agreements
  • Regularly assess agreements & purchase orders
  • Develop & maintain strong relationships with third parties
  • Review & approve purchase orders
  • Manage & verify delivery of services & items
  • Assess potential contract risks
  • Closely manage the budget for procurement
  • Manage systems & processes for tracking the shipment & supply of items
  • Oversee the handling & storage of goods
  • Analyze the impact of laws & policies on purchase order language
  • Create & share reports
  • Develop estimates by working with internal & external teams
  • Put together cost estimates
  • Develop & share Request for Proposal (RFP) packages
  • Manage the process of bidding, including reviewing RFP bids
  • Ensure that estimates are accurate, including as it relates to subcontractors
  • Spearhead preconstruction meetings
  • Confirm that all potential risks have been assessed with senior team leaders
  • Maintain appropriate system for reviewing subcontractors
  • Review agreements & purchase orders to ensure compliance
  • Ensure that each estimate contains a schedule
  • Analyze preconstruction costs on a monthly basis
  • Visit sites to meet with potential stakeholders & confirm conditions
  • Maintain an up to date understanding of industry trends

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field such as construction management, engineering, or logistics
  • Experience in relationship management, budgeting, estimating & developing financial reports
  • Demonstrated experience in managing preconstruction processes
  • Ability to successfully leverage software platforms
  • Strong understanding of contracts
  • Prior experience in procurement and/or preconstruction management
  • Exceptional analytical & problem solving capabilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Excellent attention to detail & project management skills
  • Highly self-driven & innovative problem solver
  • Exceptional communication skills
