AiGent has retained Dylan Green to lead the search for a Cloud Backend & Infrastructure Engineer to support its next phase of growth in renewable energy.
The Company
AiGent Energy is building a next-generation software platform that helps organizations unlock the full value of distributed energy resources. By applying advanced AI to aggregate, coordinate, and monetize these assets across both wholesale and retail power markets, AiGent enables commercial, institutional, and industrial customers—as well as utilities and grid operators—to boost reliability, enhance sustainability, and turn underutilized assets into valuable revenue streams.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Cloud Infrastructure and Backend Engineer to design and operate the Amazon Web Services (AWS) systems that power our distributed energy platform. In this role, you will architect and manage the cloud environment that ingests live data from thousands of assets, executes control signals, and supports seamless application performance.
You will own the backend stack end to end — from IoT provisioning and automated data flows to database design and infrastructure scaling. Work will include creating optimized time-series data models in TimescaleDB, building real-time processing functions with .NET on AWS Lambda, and ensuring security, scalability, and uptime for critical systems.
As a core contributor, you will collaborate with software, application, and embedded teams to deliver integrated solutions that transform distributed energy into reliable grid assets. Your work will directly support grid resilience and accelerate clean energy adoption.
This is an opportunity to build cloud systems at scale while shaping the future of how energy is produced, managed, and delivered across the power grid.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Build and manage AWS IoT Core provisioning pipelines and data exchange pathways
- Create .NET-based Lambda functions to process incoming telemetry, execute control signals, and trigger alerts
- Architect and refine TimescaleDB data models for storing time-series generator data and event records
- Oversee continuous integration and deployment workflows using GitHub Actions and automate infrastructure with Terraform or CloudFormation
- Administer platform-wide logging, monitoring, and security configurations
- Partner with Embedded and Application engineering teams to deliver fully integrated end-to-end solutions
Qualifications
- Extensive experience building and operating backend or cloud-based systems
- Deep understanding of AWS services including IoT Core, Lambda functions, and EC2 instances
- Skilled in using .NET (C#) to develop backend components and serverless workflows
- Hands-on experience designing efficient database schemas and tuning SQL performance (preferably with Postgres or TimescaleDB)
- Working knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation and continuous deployment processes
- Background implementing security best practices for connected device and cloud environments
- Preferred: Advanced academic background in software engineering or a closely related discipline
- Preferred: In-depth expertise with generator technologies and their applications
- Preferred: Experience working with backup power solutions, emergency generation equipment, and distributed generation infrastructure
- Preferred: Familiarity with renewable energy assets, battery storage systems, and other distributed energy resources
Benefits
