They are a national company that designs, develops, finances & constructs decentralized power generation systems for commercial & industrial companies. Fast forward to today, our client is owned by an international investor in sustainability initiatives, which has enabled the company to have reliable access to funding from key investors.
Role Overview
Our client seeks an Origination Associate to spearhead lead generation efforts for new C&I customers, including through managing & developing relationships; helping with contract negotiations; researching & generating proposals; & financial modeling.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Successfully close deals involving Power Purchase Agreements & related products
- Research, generate & work on new customer acquisitions throughout the U.S., specifically distributed solar & battery storage projects for public sector & C&I customers
- Complete remote & in-person business development calls with customers
- Work closely with customers to help them meet their clean energy goals
- Collaborate with a wide range of internal team members – from finance to engineering to legal
- Support with assessing & negotiating key documents, such as PPAs
- Research, discover & attend industry events
- Use software programs & other tools to analyze project opportunities
- Provide due diligence support
- Spearhead the drafting of Requests for Proposals
- Develop proposal documents
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree; Advanced degree is a plus
- Experience originating energy storage &/or solar energy projects
- Detail-oriented & motivated to achieve targets
- Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders
- Executive presentation experience
- Contract negotiation experience
- Strong communications skills – both written & verbal
- Excellent analytical capabilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products
- Strong U.S. energy markets knowledge
