Role Overview
Our client is hiring a Vice President to oversee project delivery for utility-scale solar and storage assets in PJM, NYISO, and ISO-NE. This executive will lead the internal EPC function, guiding projects from late-stage development through construction completion and handoff to operations. The VP will be accountable for driving execution excellence, team leadership, and on-time, on-budget delivery across a growing renewable energy portfolio.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Direct the in-house construction team delivering the company’s large-scale solar and storage projects
- Shape and execute delivery plans that align with budget expectations, scheduling goals, and broader company priorities
- Strengthen internal systems and processes to support a growing number of build-ready assets
- Manage active construction across multiple sites, ensuring consistent performance across quality, safety, cost, and timelines
- Oversee contractor execution, track permitting milestones, and monitor progress against project budgets and schedules
- Lead and coach a multidisciplinary team of project managers, site leads, engineers, and field staff
- Promote a work environment centered on accountability, teamwork, and learning
- Work closely with teams across development, legal, operations, and finance to ensure smooth project handoff and execution
- Act as a primary liaison to senior leadership, providing updates on construction progress, risks, and key decisions
- Drive procurement planning and execution for materials and services, including contract negotiation and oversight
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors while enforcing contract obligations and timelines
- Identify challenges early and develop mitigation plans related to permitting, interconnection, labor, supply chain, or compliance
- Monitor all construction activities for adherence to regulatory standards and internal company requirements
Qualifications
- Extensive hands-on experience delivering large-scale renewable energy or solar infrastructure projects, including experience in a top-level management role
- Demonstrated success overseeing the full lifecycle of EPC execution for utility-scale projects in markets such as PJM and NYISO
- Expertise in construction planning, cost control, permitting processes, safety oversight, and contractor supervision
- Ability to travel to project sites up to around one third of the time
- Strong people leadership with a background in guiding diverse, multidisciplinary execution teams
- Skilled in coordinating across departments, negotiating with stakeholders, and managing complex workflows
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, or a similar discipline preferred; certification in project management is a bonus
- Ability to work remote, with a preference for being based remotely on the East Coast
