Role Overview

Our client seeks an Originator to support with the development of sustainable solutions for their customers. The Originator will help with negotiating transactions, particularly with those related to offtake. From hydrogen generation to renewable energy PPAs, the Originator will support a range of ESG initiatives. The successful candidate will be able to develop & maintain strong relationships with key customers & developers. They will also have a strong understanding of project risks & lifecycles.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Support with structuring, originating, & negotiating major clean energy deals
• Help with creating transactional opportunities in line with the company’s targets
• Develop & manage relationships with customers
• Maintain an understanding of wholesale renewable energy market risks
• Successfully communicate risks to customers
• Work collaboratively with a range of departments – from legal to finance
• Develop presentations to enable an efficient internal approval process

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree
• Experience in the energy industry with a specific focus on clean energy
• Strong understanding of important elements of wholesale energy markets
• Experience supporting the execution of offtake transactions
• Ability to prepare & deliver presentations
• Exceptional analytical skills
• Understanding of interconnection & transmission challenges
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively on a team as well as independently
• Strong Microsoft Office Suite product knowledge
• Ability to travel overnight, as needed
