Role Overview
The Finance Associate will be central to shaping and advancing financing strategies for large-scale renewable projects. The role emphasizes building sophisticated economic models, coordinating across internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring transactions move smoothly from diligence through closing. Success in this position requires strong analytical ability, clear communication with investors and partners, and a collaborative approach to improving tools and processes.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Create and refine financial models and quantitative assessments to evaluate solar and energy storage opportunities
- Contribute to the structuring and closing of financing arrangements, including equity partnerships, tax-driven structures, and debt facilities
- Assist in capital raising efforts by coordinating diligence and deliverables with project managers, legal counsel, and third parties
- Work closely with development, construction, legal, and asset management teams to ensure financial approaches align with project milestones and requirements
- Share expertise with less experienced colleagues
- Enhance internal tools, workflows, and documentation standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced quantitative or financial coursework is a plus
- Background in managing deal processes, including due diligence, financial structuring, and review of contractual terms
- Demonstrated expertise in building and interpreting complex financial models, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and familiarity with tools such as Python
- Solid grasp of renewable energy finance, including incentive programs, tax equity structures and current policies
- Highly organized professional with the ability to balance multiple deadlines, stakeholders, and financing activities at once
- Strong communicator, comfortable engaging directly with investors, lenders, attorneys, and senior leadership
- Committed to tackling meaningful challenges in the clean energy transition while mentoring and supporting colleagues
