Our client is a major energy storage independent power producer that develops, owns & operates projects in the U.S. The company is owned in part by an investment firm with billions of dollars in assets under management & has several gigawatts of projects in the pipeline.
Role Overview
Our client seeks a Director of Finance to join its growing battery storage team in the Midwest. The Director of Finance will support with a range of transactions, such as equity raises, mergers & acquisitions & tax equity. The successful candidate will have clean energy finance experience.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Spearhead debt & equity raise transactions
- Prepare materials, perform due diligence, & negotiate & support with compliance
- Collaborate with development team to provide mergers & acquisitions support
- Work on tax equity modeling
- Review & revise models related to operating costs, energy prices, battery applications & capital expenses
- Support with project finance through the facilitation of due diligence & the development of marketing collateral
- Work cohesively with staff on financial models
- Maintain an up to date awareness of energy markets & inform internal teams of relevant updates that may impact strategy
- Develop optimal project development, M&A & accounting workflows
- Support internal teams with performing analyses, creating reports & ensuring compliance
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field such as Finance or Accounting
- MBA or other advanced degree is ideal
- Finance & accounting experience within clean energy is required
- Excellent understanding of project finance & financial modeling
- Tax equity experience is required
- Experience leading & developing productive teams
- Exceptional communication & analytical skills
- Ability to think strategically & provide meaningful, data-based insights
- Self-driven & able to work in a quick-paced work environment
