Role Overview

The company is looking for a Manager with expertise in asset-based lending, renewable energy, or structured finance to help expand its investment portfolio. This role focuses on originating, structuring, negotiating, and closing energy efficiency transactions, while also supporting investments in other clean energy sectors. The Manager will lead deal processes from bidding through execution, collaborating closely with internal teams and external partners.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Guide deals from initial review and bidding through diligence, documentation, and closing, ensuring each stage progresses smoothly under direction from senior leadership
  • Take ownership of advancing workstreams and moving transactions forward across the deal cycle
  • Conduct upfront evaluations of opportunities against team objectives, share findings with senior leaders, and help shape recommendations for investment approval
  • Build and carry out transaction plans, including setting action steps, coordinating with colleagues across functions, and ensuring tasks are assigned and completed
  • Manage diligence efforts on projects by reviewing contracts such as construction, service, and financing agreements, and integrate results into deal structures and documentation
  • Oversee credit analysis of counterparties and apply conclusions to strengthen transaction terms
  • Serve as the main contact for outside stakeholders—including clients, counsel, and financing partners—while relaying input to the internal team and implementing structuring adjustments as needed
  • Support leverage arrangements by helping identify partners, assist with negotiations, coordinate diligence requests, refine financial models, and manage closing requirements
  • Partner with portfolio management team members to provide deal knowledge for post-closing decisions, assist with servicing tasks, and handle client and financing partner communications
  • Collaborate with risk management colleagues to highlight transaction and portfolio risks and propose practical mitigations

Qualifications

  • Background in asset-based lending, structured finance, or securitization with strong knowledge of deal mechanics, legal documentation, and execution processes
  • Advanced skill in Excel modeling with hands-on experience in debt and project finance analysis, able to adjust and refine complex models quickly
  • Organized and methodical approach with the ability to design action plans and lead transactions through each stage
  • Skilled at managing multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and accountability within a team setting
  • Strong communicator who can clearly present information to colleagues and confidently engage with clients, partners, and advisors
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and proactive while also contributing effectively as part of a group
