Land Acquisition Manager

The Company

Our client is a portfolio company of an international investment firm and focuses on developing, constructing, owning and operating sustainable, large-scale infrastructure assets throughout the United States. They have over 10 GW of solar power and energy storage projects that they are actively developing in an effort to accelerate the energy transition.

The Role

Our client seeks a Land Acquisition Manager who is able to manage complicated renewable energy land acquisition projects. The Manager will work closely with the Finance and EPC teams to provide support on projects that are in their later stages. The right candidate will have excellent negotiation, problem solving and communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and plan strategies related to the acquisition of land
  • Assess sites based on relevant information such as site challenges and grid capacity
  • Create and pursue a list of key landowners in order to secure land for projects
  • Negotiate and structure real estate contracts
  • Assess and make edits to contracts alongside legal staff
  • Lead outreach efforts such as campaigns, meetings and calls
  • Work cohesively with departments such as Engineering and Origination
  • Perform due diligence for a wide range of sites
  • Work collaboratively with consultants to receive reports
  • Oversee third party vendors and contractors

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, business, engineering, law, or related field preferred, but not required
  • Experience in land development and acquisition combined with an awareness of clean energy project development, permitting, markets and technologies
  • Experience with various platforms that provide maps
  • Travel up to one third to one half of the time
