Role Overview
Our client is hiring a Project Finance Associate to support the evaluation and financing of clean energy assets, ideal for someone with prior experience or a strong interest in entering the renewable energy sector. This position involves building and maintaining financial models, along with performing detailed analyses to support the structuring, marketing, and execution of capital investments—including sponsor equity, tax equity, and debt—for a portfolio that includes community solar, solar-plus-storage, and standalone battery storage projects. Over time, the Associate will gain opportunities to take on greater responsibility, including managing parts of investor-facing transactions and leading key components of the deal process.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Build and update detailed financial models to support various investment structures, such as joint ventures and structured equity
- Oversee the execution and completion of financing transactions across a portfolio of projects at different stages of the development cycle
- Contribute to discussions with capital partners regarding funding for clean energy assets, including construction loans and equity partnerships
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as development, legal and construction—to align financial inputs, refine key assumptions, and integrate lender requirements into project planning and internal workflows
- Represent the company at investor meetings, industry events, and stakeholder sessions as needed
- Provide analytical and logistical support to senior members of the project finance team as they structure and finalize complex funding agreements, including the sale of tax credit interests
Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of relevant professional experience
- Undergraduate degree in a related field such as business or engineering, or a comparable discipline
- Proven ability to coordinate complex tasks, stay highly organized, and maintain precision in deliverables
- Skilled at juggling multiple priorities simultaneously while meeting tight timelines
- Comfortable conveying financial and project-related insights to internal teams, leadership, and external stakeholders
- Flexible mindset with the ability to adjust workflows or priorities in response to shifting business needs
- Highly motivated, goal-oriented, and committed to delivering results
- Genuine interest in clean energy and a long-term commitment to building a career in the solar sector
- Must have valid authorization to work in the United States
