Role Overview
The Vice President of Origination leads the sourcing and execution of transactions involving transferable tax incentives. This individual builds and manages relationships with institutional investors and corporate participants, helping clients optimize financial outcomes through structured credit placements. The role combines strategic business development with hands-on deal management in the clean energy and broader tax credit markets.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Quickly assess and align suitable participants for tax credit transactions, ensuring efficient pairing of counterparties
- Leverage prior industry experience and established connections across corporate and private sectors
- Build upon or broaden an existing professional network involved in credit financing, structured equity, or asset transactions
- Manage the outreach and promotion of available credit opportunities in a thorough, polished, and strategic manner, with an emphasis on renewable energy and select state programs
- Secure indicative proposals and deal terms from interested investors
- Cultivate and sustain relationships with key market participants to support consistent, long-term collaboration
- Assist with representation at industry gatherings, accounting forums, and related professional events
- Prepare and deliver presentations to prospective buyers to increase visibility and engagement
- Maintain a well-organized contact database and record of investor activity
- Develop and refine marketing materials, transaction overviews, and related communication tools
Qualifications
- Background in client acquisition, structured finance, deal execution, or institutional partnerships—preferably tied to sustainable infrastructure, taxation, or investment services
- Prior experience in capital placement, advisory roles, or financial market transactions is highly valuable
- Strong understanding of fiscal structures or accounting principles
- Exceptional coordination and deadline management abilities
- Analytical thinker with sound judgment and the capacity to act decisively
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively and close complex agreements
