The Finance Analyst Position

The Finance Analyst will work with the Structured Finance team to support the organization’s goals. The team is looking for a highly motivated and analytical individual who is eager to join a higher performing and dynamic team that deals with a high volume deal flow. This individual will have the responsibility of supporting the project finance debt and tax equity transactions from their initial stages to the final stages where funding events take place. The position will also entail taking care of financial analysis for offtake contract origination, miscellaneous analytic tasks and M&A opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Handle the project finance model for both debt financing and tax equity from initial capital raising through the commercial operation date
  • Prepare marketing materials for prospective tax equity and debt providers
  • Maintain all transaction data rooms and manage third party consultants and stakeholders for M&A, debt and tax equity financing processes
  • Monitor industry trends and competitors
  • Assist with the preparation of investment committee presentations related to milestones in the project lifecycle
  • Confirm project inputs in financial models related to capital expenditures, operating expenses and revenue
  • Assist with negotiating term sheets through the conversion of prospective terms into modeled analyses
  • Review accuracy related to debt model inputs and final tax equity
  • Give support to various internal groups at key project milestones including module procurement, EPC contract negotiation, PPA execution and design optimization

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (Bachelor’s in a quantitative field is ideal but not required)
  • Exceptional financial modeling skills (a modeling test will be administered)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Detail oriented individual with organizational skills
  • Adaptable to changing needs, assignments, priorities and roles
  • Be a motivated self-starter who strives to optimize work products
  • Ability and motivation to work in a cross-functional manner within the company
  • Solid time management skills needed for tight deadlines working with various stakeholders
  • Ease in communication with various internal management and financing counterparties
  • Knowledge of tax equity and debt structures in the renewable energy space; or abstract understanding of power markets is preferred
  • Knowledge of VBA (a plus)
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a transactional role (ideally in investment banking or experience working with a renewable energy company, or a role performing financial analyses)
  • Advocate for renewable energy
  • Must be willing to relocate to help promote a hybrid work environment
