Role Overview
The Sr. Manager, Business Development, will focus on building & managing customer relationships to drive adoption of sustainability-focused solutions. The position involves identifying & qualifying leads, developing strategies to address customer challenges, & closing deals to meet financial goals. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise to guide customers through emissions reporting & climate action planning, aligning solutions with their sustainability needs.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Build & maintain strong partnerships internally & externally to drive sales
- Identify & engage potential clients by utilizing targeted customer lists, researching key contacts, & conducting thorough preparation before outreach
- Secure new business by developing trusted relationships with key stakeholders, gathering necessary details for service agreements, & ensuring seamless contract execution
- Acquire in-depth knowledge of various types of emissions, sustainability reporting standards, & the full range of the company’s offerings
- Exhibit excellent presentation & communication skills, confidently addressing groups & engaging with senior executives
Qualifications
- Relevant experience in the energy or sustainability sectors
- Prior experience in areas like sales, marketing or finance
- Experience with business to business client engagement within sustainability or energy
- Strong understanding of the sustainability & energy industries
- Ability to make decisions in line with the core values of the company
- Keen interest in addressing environmental challenges for clients
- Strong initiative & a proactive approach to taking on varied tasks
- Ability to deliver impactful presentations & stay highly organized
- Exceptional communication skills
- Fluency in English
- Bachelor’s degree
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office
- Experience working with databases
