The Role
Our client seeks a Senior Sustainability Associate to join its sales team who will report to the Senior Manager of Sustainability Advisory Solutions, and help to expand and promote growth and profitability in the company’s advisory services. This role supports customers through the creation and implementation of projects, strategies and programs related to transportation electrification, energy supply and renewables. In this position, you will lead the technical sales team and focus on customer support through the nurturing of networks within the industry.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead and support the technical sales team
- Assist with customer engagement
- Help with the execution of sustainability and decarbonization plans for customers
- Support technical advisory to clients across various issues such as carbon pricing, GHG, and sustainability reports
- Assist customers through the various stages of the decarbonization process
- Focus on a strategic sales process that is in tune with all customer needs
- Take charge of meetings and presentations
- Lead RFP submissions when needed
- Work with various departments, like Marketing and Legal, to help ensure external content preparation
- Lead research projects related to policy and regulatory topics
- Develop strong relationships with regulatory entities, and other partners in sustainability
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with experience working with investment strategies or in sustainability consulting
- Extensive prior experience providing consulting services in the energy industry
- Prior working expertise in at least two of the following: decarbonization, GHG, sustainability program development, renewable energy reporting, environmental reporting, climate adaptation and risk or stakeholder engagement
- Ability to develop strategies related to net zero GHG, carbon reduction strategies, life cycle assessments, carbon markets, business resiliency, GHG accounting, climate risk adaptation and energy efficiency
- Proven record of success in consultative sales
- Ability to build strong relationships with various internal and external stakeholders
- Well-developed networking building capabilities
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Ability to establish goals and tactical direction for customer needs
- Analytical and critical thinker that can communicate complex strategies and concepts to various stakeholders
- Self-motivated
- MBA not required but preferred
- Strong understanding of the energy regulatory world
