The Role
Our client seeks a Senior Project Manager who will oversee the execution of projects in line with the Owner EPC agreement and will have a team on-site to assist with all work tasks.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of EPC contracts with the company owner
- Support the legal team and management with negotiations
- Manage relationships with owners and work on ensuring projects are completed in compliance and on schedule
- Be responsible for project budget and safety as well as quality
- Manage all cost and scheduling goals
- Regularly report to management with project progress
- Take part in performance and staffing management and conduct annual reviews and training through collaboration with HR
- Work with HR on interviewing, recruitment and new hire recommendations
- Coordinate the schedules of staff to accommodate the work load
- Establish relationships as needed with Authorities, Regulatory Agencies and professional organizations
- Make sure that all subcontractors are in compliance with permits and laws
- Take part in interconnection agreements’ negotiations and execution
- Ensure communications with relevant electrical transmission authorities
- Manage the system design and construction process
- Oversee all RFI and submission processes in a timely manner
- Coordinate with the procurement team on all contract associated purchase orders and invoices
- Create and put into place needed strategy for subcontractor and consultant procurement
- Work with the organization’s supply chain to ensure all materials are managed in a timely manner
- Be responsible for the project schedule in all stages with weekly reports given to executives as well as regular meetings with the owner and subcontractors to update on project status
- Organize pre-construction activities
- Manage all living arrangements for staff as needed (e.g., transportation, housing)
- Monitor all safety and quality assurance plans for compliance
- Monitor and manage the commissioning of plants in all stages from the initial commissioning to the handover to customer
- Manage all close outs of projects including financial closeout and demobilization
- Work with the sales, development and finance teams for the development of future projects
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction, and/or Business
- Master’s degree is not required, but is a plus
- Spanish speaking not required, but is a plus
- Extensive experience in a supervisory or group lead position
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite required
- Knowledge and prior experience with MS Project required
- Extensive experience in commercial contracting, commercial construction, general contracting or commercial electrical contracting
- Proven leadership skills
- Personnel management skills
