Senior Manager, GHG Accounting

The Senior Manager will work with the Sustainability and Climate Strategy team to head the Greenhouse Gas Inventory Management Plan. They will work with all levels in the organization to compile and present quarterly performance reports to senior members of the company. They should also conduct and utilize research on emerging trends in the sustainability industry. This position reports to the Director of Sustainability and Climate Strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Annually review the GHG plan and identify achieved goals and needed updates.
  • Communicate cross-functionally for GHG data.
  • Gather energy use data, performance reviews, and quarterly reporting for senior management.
  • Develop annual performance goals and annual emissions and energy use summaries.
  • Support the emission goals of the client and manage the GHG Inventory validation process.
  • Research strategic environmental issues to contribute recommendations for senior leadership on GHG emissions protocols, alternative fuels, water resources, emerging energy technologies, legislation, regulation, and stakeholder issues.
  • Maintain knowledge of GHG accounting policies and consult on GHG emissions.
  • Collaborate internally and externally on communication of strategic environmental issues.
  • Integrate external environmental surveys into company responses.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant industry (science, engineering, public policy, or business).
  • 8+ years in a relevant energy industry.
  • Experience in negotiation, performing research and analyzing performance data.
  • Familiarity researching environmental policies and regulations.
  • Demonstrated skills in written communication, organization, and collaboration.
  • Knowledge about environmental and energy issues and national, state, and regional regulatory policies.
  • Experience in GHG accounting in the energy sector.

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in relevant field (engineering, economics, law, public policy, business).
  • Experience developing environmental and sustainability strategies in a corporate environment.
