The Role

Our client seeks a Project Finance Manager to lead all aspects of the company’s financial activities. This position requires working directly with the company CFO to ensure ideal outcomes are met in deal structuring for the organization’s commercial projects portfolio. The ideal candidate will be able to work with third party entities to advance the competitive position of the organization and nurture its financial relationships.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work on advancing relationships with the development team
  • Maintain external relationships with financial institutions, tax equity providers and banks
  • Help reduce cost of capital
  • Take the lead on financing oversight
  • Collaborate with the sales as well as the marketing teams to work on value propositions
  • Improve financial models within the organization
  • Negotiate debt financing and partnership agreements
  • Address all organizational project agreement needs
  • Take the lead on pricing strategies for finance related tools such as bank loans, PPAs and others
  • Establish PPA pricing related to projects that are in development
  • Assist in training of personnel who have tasks related to marketing, sales and operations
  • Monitor rate structures and incentives that relate to driving financial value
  • Keep track of asset management, real estate, insurance and permitting
  • Match projects that have received financing with external financiers
  • Oversee information memorandums, the credit approval process, and data rooms
  • Take responsibility for role of managing portfolio risk

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience in project finance related to renewable energy
  • Master’s degree in finance, MBA, or related level of work experience  
  • Prior experience leading sell side transactions
  • Experience managing tax equity
  • Understanding of GAAP principles
  • Comfort working with MS Office products including MS Excel
  • Able to work within a team environment as well as independently
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to communicate complex information both verbally and in writing
  • Strong commitment to integrity with the ability to self-manage
  • Comfort with credit analysis is not required but is preferred
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record needed
