Role Overview
Our client seeks a Project Development Manager to lead all development initiatives for community solar projects. The ideal candidate for this role will have deep knowledge of & expertise in all aspects of project development – from permitting to real estate to construction to interconnection. The Project Development Manager will be highly self-driven & adept at identifying project opportunities & risks.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Spearhead development initiatives on a set of ground mount &/or rooftop solar & energy storage projects in the Midwest
- Lead the process of entitlements from due diligence through to project plan approvals
- Communicate with AHJs & find strategies for expediting permitting processes
- Lead presentations & facilitate engagement with communities
- Oversee & collaborate with third party consultants such as engineers
- Provide support on site assessments as well as construction & community engagement initiatives
- Develop & manage budgets & schedules for projects
- Achieve project targets & milestones
- Support with developing strategies related to new business opportunities
- Travel to project sites as needed
Qualifications
- Experience in development &/or land use management, ideally in clean energy
- Experience with energy construction projects
- Bachelor’s degree
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional analytical capabilities
- Deep understanding of local codes & regulations
- Strong problem solving capabilities
- Familiarity & experience with mapping tools
- Ability to travel as needed, at least one-third of the time
- Exceptional communication skills
- Highly self-driven
