Project Development Manager, Acquisitions

Role Overview

Our client seeks a Project Development Manager, Acquisitions to lead development due diligence for sets of projects that are being considered for acquisition by the company. The ideal candidate will have experience developing community solar projects, as well as a deep understanding of each phase of a project – from siting to construction to interconnection. The Project Development Manager, Acquisitions will be able to assess project risks & opportunities & will have knowledge of project finance & deal structures related to mergers & acquisitions.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Spearhead development initiatives on a set of ground mount &/or rooftop solar & energy storage projects in East Coast & Midwest regions
  • Manage & reduce development risks
  • Develop & manage due diligence processes
  • Communicate with AHJs to secure project agreements
  • Oversee & collaborate with third party consultants such as engineers
  • Support with transaction documents
  • Work with project finance & construction teams by developing & tracking project information
  • Respond to requests for information from external parties
  • Achieve company targets & milestones
  • Support with developing strategies related to new business opportunities
  • Travel to project sites, community events & company offices as needed

Qualifications

  • Experience in development &/or land use management, ideally in clean energy
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Understanding of & familiarity with project construction & engineering
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with mapping tools
  • Exceptional analytical capabilities
  • Deep understanding of local codes & regulations
  • Strong problem solving capabilities
  • Excellent understanding of renewable energy project development
  • Ability to travel as needed, at least one-fifth of the time
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Highly self-driven
