They are advancing the country’s transition to a clean energy economy by having set a goal of 100 percent carbon free generation by 2040, supporting their customers in reaching their sustainability targets, as well as by making investments in the latest climate and decarbonization technologies.
The Role
Our client seeks a Managing Director of Sustainability to lead a consultative technical team that will enable the development and growth of the company’s consultative services line of products. As corporations are increasingly focused on their sustainability initiatives, our client helps customers by creating and implementing unique plans, strategies, programs and projects – from renewable energy to energy optimization. The Managing Director will lead a team of advisors dedicated to multi-product services focused on key customer segments, including commercial and industrial businesses. This role necessitates a high level of organizational skills and the ability to develop and maintain relationships across various teams.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage and lead a team of advisors who support with originating consultative sustainability services
- Help develop a strong pipeline to meet company targets
- Facilitate training and mentoring to team members, who will negotiate and finalize solutions for customers with the Managing Director’s guidance
- Help customers develop a plan to address their decarbonization goals
- Develop innovative strategies and manage projects
- Work cohesively on complicated plans
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders – from channel partners to regulatory organizations
- Make presentations at industry events
- Support with webinars and client events
- Write thought leadership articles and white papers on sustainability
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant industry experience; MBA or other advanced degree preferred
- Demonstrable success in designing and implementing sustainability plans and strategies
- Ability to set and achieve business development goals
- High level of technical expertise
