Our client is a portfolio company of an international investment firm and focuses on developing, constructing, owning and operating sustainable, large-scale infrastructure assets throughout the United States. They have over 10 GW of solar power and energy storage projects that they are actively developing in an effort to accelerate the energy transition.
The Role
Our client seeks a Director of Procurement to negotiate agreements with new and existing logistics and equipment suppliers within the clean energy industry. The right candidate will be able to excel individually and in a leadership role, be highly organized, as well as have excellent communication and influencing capabilities. The candidate should also have a passion for renewable energy and mitigating climate change.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Create, assess and manage current and new logistics and equipment suppliers
- Negotiate agreements such as supply contracts, logistics contracts and purchase orders
- Communicate with in-house and external attorneys during agreement negotiations
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers
- Manage process for approving and moving forward with agreements related to funding
- Oversee Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) firm request for proposal process
- Manage EPC data, review and compare proposals, select vendors, and negotiate agreements
- Ensure that supplier databases are properly maintained and have all essential information, including items like status updates
- Support with acquiring assets related to development as needed
- Provide research and analysis support to EPC teams
- Support the finance and marketing teams
- Research new clean energy technology
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience handling procurement agreements within the utility-scale solar and energy storage space
- Demonstrable ability to develop cohesive partnerships
- Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills
- Strong ability to problem solve
- Ability to excel in a fast paced environment
- Strong presentation capabilities
- Experience with Microsoft Office products
- Ability to work in the office two to three days a week
- Ability to travel up to twenty percent
