The Director of Development will manage the expansion of large-scale renewable projects. They should be knowledgeable about solar and energy storage projects and be able to develop a project from origination to commissioning. The Director will need to collaborate with other teams and have effective communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead projects through various phases such as permitting, design, contracting, financing and construction.
- Conduct due diligence on portfolio acquisitions and risks, and outline priorities for each project.
- Identify, contract with and collaborate with co-development partners to grow the overall development pipeline.
- Oversee project pro-forma models.
- Support the negotiation of critical project agreements.
- Lead projects through financing due-diligence efforts.
- Collaborate with the internal team and external consultants to evaluate the project site, design, technology options and procurement strategies.
- Administer service agreements with development partners and manage relationships with various consultants.
- Develop and manage project budgets and schedules and take a lead role in budget and forecast management.
- Provide leadership and direction to cross-functional project teams.
- Identify new market and greenfield opportunities across the US.
Qualifications
- A Bachelors degree in related field.
- 10+ years of development project management experience.
- At least five years of experience in the renewable energy industry.
- Experience with project real estate rights, land contracting, title resolutions and ALTA surveys.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations, governmental rules and market trends that impact the project development in different markets.
- Familiarity with project grid interconnection elements, interconnection studies and interconnection agreements.
- Proficiency with managing a project budget and schedule.
- Exhibited experience working within legal agreements and contracts.
- Hands-on experience with the day-to-day management of projects and demonstrated track record of successfully planning and managing projects from start to finish.
- A proven ability to lead diverse project teams in multiple regions.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills are essential.
- Experience and expertise with MS Office, MS Project and PowerPoint.
