The major goal of the company is to assist with the ongoing decarbonization efforts being made globally by bringing together design, technology, development, construction and finance to ensure clients receive the assistance that they need to meet their goals.
The Role
Our client seeks a Director of Development who is passionate about decarbonization and who can be a self-driven leader. The successful applicant will spearhead development efforts across North America by focusing on the ongoing pipeline of investable projects. The right candidate will be able to lead and work with various stakeholders including customers, landowners, regulators, public officials and service providers.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Generate new project opportunities related to green hydrogen
- Advance projects through offtake contracting, land acquisition financing, and permitting
- Help put together project development teams that are made up of both internal and external members to complete projects on time
- Engage with all suppliers, potential partners and customers on up and coming projects and existing ones
- Help drive forward company strategy and efforts
- Monitor economic projections for projects
- Keep an eye on all risks in order to mitigate them as needed
- Present the company in a positive light within the local communities being worked in as well as within the industry
- Maintain budgets and schedules as well as internal reporting, documentation and Salesforce reporting
Qualifications & Requirements
- A record of success in managing project opportunities from the origination stage to the closing stage, particularly in the Eastern U.S. and Canada
- Previous experience with the heavy industry, such as ammonia, refining, chemicals, etc. is a strong plus
- Proven success with leading and building cross-functional teams
- The ability to be a self-starter
- A positive and energetic attitude
- Experience with a variety of disciplines, such as origination, finance, engineering, and regulations
- Able to meet deadlines and multitask without supervision
- An ethical and professional individual who can work easily with a diverse group of individuals
