Director of Development – EV

Our client is focused on the development and ownership of infrastructure that is of vital importance to the shift toward electric commercial fleets in the U.S. This is done with a focus on addressing the limitations that are faced by electric fleets. With the current complexity in the electrical grids in the country, companies such as our client help act as leaders to make the transition simpler.

The Role

Our client seeks a Director of Development will help to manage, develop and advance a large portfolio of projects related to grid optimization in commercial vehicles. The position requires supporting the entire life cycle of a project at all stages from start to finish.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead the development process for the charging hubs related to our client’s projects
  • Manage permitting efforts as well as approval processes related to design documentation
  • Assess all technical and environmental reports as they relate to projects and project impact
  • Create reports as needed to update management on progress on projects and the ongoing portfolio
  • Coordinate all grid / utility aspects of ongoing projects (e.g., design, cost, value)
  • Work closely with property owners to develop strong relationships
  • Craft and implement best practices and act decisively on potential properties
  • Supervise project budgets and schedules
  • Support RFP responses

  • Record of managing multi-disciplinary project teams
  • Understanding and comfort with land and property development
  • Has an established network of contacts that can assist with successful commercialization of infrastructure projects
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain composure in all situations
  • A solid understanding of renewable energy financing in projects
  • Understanding of GIS processes
  • Experience with geo-database management
  • Prior experience using ArcGIS
  • Mission-driven to combat the effects of climate change by tackling the urgent problem of decarbonizing the transportation sector at scale
  • Undergraduate degree in a related field with a strong academic record
  • Advanced study degree(s) preferred, but not required
  • Previous experience in the electric vehicle, EV charging or renewable energy industries
  • Can travel to meet with stakeholders
  • Current U.S. driver license
